The Team
The TLSC Leadership Presence team consists of Diane Parente, Karen Anderson Peters, and Nancy Webb. Each of us brings over 25 years of experience to addressing the gaps in competence-only leadership development programs. We believe that effective leadership is a creative combination of substance + style, competence + connection, and content + delivery.
In our 25 years, each of us has experienced many changes that have affected our areas of expertise—from the technology explosion that continues to revolutionize how we communicate across the room and around the globe, to the issue of evolving dress codes. We have seen significant social and cultural changes, political movements, and ecological challenges. We understand and embrace change.
One factor that has remained constant through all this change: peoples’ need, and desire, for connection, engagement, and teamwork. Each of us is committed to constantly improving the workplace, both professionally and personally. We bring insight and expertise to leadership development in order to increase the level of engagement across age groups, job descriptions, and client relationships.
We believe that tailoring our content to your situation and providing underlying concepts, hands-on exercises, and follow-on coaching/consulting, are critical for optimal learning. We are dedicated to creating positive results that go beyond the classroom.
The TLSC Story
After a successful career as an image consultant, Diane Parente realized she wanted to provide emerging leaders with tools to develop a personal sense of style—one that was more aligned with their organization and the positions to which they aspired.
She understood that image was just the start—that leadership style directly influences one’s career path. Her clients were highly competent and well educated, but leadership success was significantly affected by how that person “shows up.” Here was a need that wasn’t being addressed.
As a result, Diane conceived The Leadership Style Center. The Center would address key areas that were almost always overlooked in other leadership development programs: Visual Presence, Verbal Presence, and Visual Communication.
Diane is the expert on Visual Presence. She completed her team with two expert associates. Karen Anderson Peters joined the team as the Verbal Presence expert. She is the specialist in interpersonal and group communications, with extensive experience in TV and radio, and as a facilitator and moderator. Nancy Webb, is the recognized expert on strategic Visual Communication. Her strength as a graphic designer and trainer is in creating documents that get read, understood and acted upon.
Together, they launched the Leadership Presence training program.
